Danielle Tse, center, is a sophomore at Winchester High School. This is the thank you letter she sent to those who donated to her school.

My time in Guatemala over February vacation was incomparable. We worked in the Western Highlands of Guatemala in the small community of Chiché, in the department of Quiche. I met so many incredible people who have left an indelible impression on me. The community members were all exceedingly happy, welcoming, and generous, despite the fact that they had so little. They went so far as to sacrifice a bull for us!!

We mainly painted the school, but we also planted trees, and mixed concrete for the sidewalk. When we weren't working, we spent time with some of the kids in the community reading, teaching them some English, and playing games like Pato Pato Ganso (aka Duck Duck Goose).

These children now have a safe place to enrich their reading and writing skills, which eventually may help them out of extreme poverty.

Thank you so much for your support!
